Accuracy and sources
We base our work on high-resolution satellite imagery, GIS analysis, and official reports. Content is researched and cross-checked with reliable sources and expert opinion. Where possible we list the original data source and production date on each dataset page.

What we offer
• Interactive Explore map (2D/3D) with DEMs, hillshade, slope, rivers, and faults.
• Geo Tours — guided virtual tours that highlight geological features, valleys, rivers, and cultural sites.
• Data Hub — cloud-optimized DEMs (COG), shapefiles, GeoPackages, and metadata for download.
• Sites & Stories — short pages for important outcrops, Kuhls, and research locations with photos and data links.
• Tools — basic analysis tools (profile, slope calculator) for quick field planning and teaching.

Virtual tours (how they work)
Geo Tours are short, guided routes with numbered stops, photos, and short notes. Start a tour to fly the map camera from stop to stop, view preloaded layers, and download the tour as KMZ/GPX for offline use. Tours are ideal for students, field researchers, and planners.

Data access and use
Dataset pages include quick facts: spatial coverage, CRS, resolution, date, license, and citation text. Small files are available directly; large DEMs are hosted as cloud-optimized GeoTIFFs (COG) on external storage for fast streaming. Check the license on each dataset before reuse.

Get involved
If you have data, photos, or corrections, use the Contribute page to submit them. Contributors are asked to follow the upload checklist for format and metadata.
