Hinduism is majority religion, followed by 95.17%. Hamirpur is most Hindu dominant district with 98.82 % Population. It is followed by Kullu and Bilaspur. Lahaul-Spiti has least Hindi Population with 36.91 %. Shavisim and Shaktism is most followed form of Hinduism.
Sikhism in Himachal Pradesh
In Term of Percentage District Una has 5 % Sikh Population, it is followed by Sirmaur with 2.93% Population. Sikhism was introduced During the the Guru Gobind Singh. Lahaul Spiti has least Sikh Population. Sikhism is limited to Plains and Shivalik hills bordering Punjab.
Islam in Himachal Pradesh
Islam is followed by 2.18% People. In term of percentage Sirmaur has highest muslim poulation 6.27 % it is followed by District Chamba with 6.25 % Population. Most Muslim of Himachal Pradesh are classifed as Schedule Tribe. Present day Muslim of Himachal Pradesh are believed to be descendant of Huns , who later converted to Islam and Migrated to hills.
Buddhism in Himachal Pradesh
Himachal has many Prominent ancient Buddhist sites, for example Rewalsar, Kalath Temple of Kullu, Chetru Stupa of Kangra etc but in present day Buddhism is restricted to Higher Himalaya only.
